About Housewise Canada

Housewise Canada is an independent site, based in Canada, that helps Canadians choose smart home and home improvement products that fit their home.

Most smart home reviews are written for American homes. They skip electric baseboard heat, renting rules and the subscriptions that show up after checkout. We built this site and its Home Fit tool so you can check whether a product suits your home before you spend money.

How picks are chosen

Each product is marked Researched when the recommendation comes from specifications, reviews and compatibility checks, or Tested when it has been used first-hand. Tested items include notes from that use.

How Home Fit works

Home Fit compares your answers with manufacturer compatibility information for each product. It is a starting point, not a guarantee. Your answers are stored only in your own browser.

How the site earns money

Some links are affiliate links. If you buy through them, the site earns a commission at no extra cost to you. This does not decide what is listed. See the affiliate disclosure.
